Clement of Alexandria (3rd century A.D.) once defined prayer as “keeping company with God”. Prayer can be described as a back and forth conversation that involves listening, speaking, acting, following, and responding; prayer enables us to live in God. Hans Urs Von Balthasar writes, “Love wants to be in the presence of the beloved...In prayer, our love seeks love, divine love.”
Prayer is central to what it means to be on the way of Jesus, and as such, prayer needs to permeate all that we are and do. Our desire is not to develop a better “prayer life” but to seek to truly live a “prayed life”.
Come and join us in our desire to grow in our understanding and experience of prayer. Every Thursday night at 7:00pm, we have a corporate prayer gathering that is open to all. Come and join as we listen for God’s voice, as we seek His direction for our church, and as we pray for one another.
If you have a Prayer Request that you would like us to agree with you in, please submit it by using the link above and filling out the form. Prayers are received by the Church Office and forwarded to our Pastoral Team.
