Kim (Close) & Brenden Vowell
Kim and Brenden Vowell live with their three daughters in rural Zambia, Africa, where they head up Project Samuel. The Project is home to 23 previously orphaned or at risk children, who have now found a family. The Project exists to love, care, and equip children and communities in great need. They are responsible for the children's housing, food, love, care, clothing, educational fees. They also minister through community development projects such as teaching farming and sponsoring children in the local community who have parents but are in great need.
Along with supporting children the Project reaches out to the community at large, teaching and providing agriculture and leadership training. On their property they also have a sustainability side to their ministry. Project Samuel has a large corn field, goats, layer chickens, garden, and orchard, which all help to provide for the children. They also employ 11 local staff full-time and others on a season basis. This helps to change the lives of these families.
As CoVid continues to disrupt normal routines Project Samuel has been running a Sunday church service for their children and on site staff. During school closures they have also added increased hours of tutoring to support the children through this period.
If you are interested in supporting the Project or the Vowell’s or if you would like to sponsors a Project Samuel or Community Child In Need, please contact Kim Vowell (kdvowell@rfcministries.org).
