On a spectacular day last Saturday, May 6th, Central Lonsdale was in full bloom to celebrate the youth of the North Shore.  Over 5000 people turned up to enjoy more than 300 performers in music and dance, 100 competitors in skate & longboard, more than 10 food booths, a visual arts display, a film contest, and many other exciting activities that formed this annual Youth Week Event.
I continue to marvel at just how significant CityFEST has become for the youth of our city.  The leadership development for Youth Committee Members is literally life-changing.  It gives many local youth a stage for their first performance.  Our youth feel celebrated — important.  And, they come out in droves to this festival every year.
