Families: Please see attached update from compassion about our compassion child Liezl - thank-you for your prayers and support.
... Since Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines in early November, Compassion staff has been working tirelessly to respond to the many needs and ensure the safety of all our sponsored children.
We are so glad to be able to tell you that your sponsored child, Liezl Camporedondo, was not directly affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
While your sponsored child's Compassion centre was affected by the typhoon, your sponsored child's home was not destroyed or damaged, no personal property was lost and no immediate family was killed or injured. Praise God!
Thank you for your patience receiving this news from us. Communication and transportation are still severely limited in the Philippines, so gathering information takes some time. But we praise God that no deaths of Compassion beneficiaries have been reported!
Compassion Philippines is responding to the needs of those who lost homes or were injured with aid such as food, water, clothing, blankets and medical supplies and treatment, along with the spiritual support of the local church.
Thank you for your continued support of Liezl Camporedondo. Please join us in praying that God would bring comfort and relief through our church partners as they continue to reach out to the families who lost everything in the typhoon.
In Christ,
Compassion Canada
